Another set of Hifiman pads just randomly fell apart on me, this time the PaliPad. The love/hate situation with this company drives me nuts. May 29, 2020

I've been a little lucky with the pads on my Ananda lasting about 1 1/2 years now. I was thinking of trying to get a used HE 1K SE then I see the horror stories of pads falling apart after one year of use. The pads aren't cheap either.

I've always fancied Auteur pads on HE6 most of the time. Deep pads are hit or miss. I generally avoid perf pads on planars.

@Phantaminum I've never had an issue with the egg shaped pads, but then again I’ve never tried to replace them either. @E_Schaaf I do have some extra ZMF pads here, but what’s the best way to attach them?

That feeling when you find a new song you love but it's mastered so terribly that it's nearly unlistenable..

Huh, @E_Schaaf helped me out a bit. Not great, but not unlistenable.

That is, until you switch to other music and wonder why it sounds hilariously bad, then realize EQ is all over the place.

There is no cure for clipping. That is the most frustrating to me and I cant understand why so many can accept it on so many albums such as the newest Tool album. The mastering is absolutely terrible.

Are you able to stream Qobuz to Moode via UPnP or do you use Airplay/Bluetooth? I cannot get Qobuz to my current Moode build via UPnP. (my PI2AES shipment arrives tomorrow).

@Mindbender I know there's Qobuz UPnP on the windows app, but I don't think it is off beta. When I used it I thought it stinks. I highly recommend using a UPnP Controller program that's available on an iPhone because that would solve your problems.

@Mindbender if you use foobar you can get the UPnP Output component and tell for bar to send audio to the DNLA render of moOde.

Can't handle the uncertainty that comes with an "out for delivery" notification from the USPS. 50/50 chance they get it to the house.

Lol. I wouldn't even give it 50/50 in my delivery area. I think it is 50/50 that when they mark it delivered, it gets to me within 3 days after that.

I'd check places that sell tools, work benches, etc. I picked mine up at Micro Centre in DTC / Denver. Look for the long, rectangular ones that are meant for mounting on the underside of a workbench. They tend to have heavier gauge wiring, without surge or conditioning.

Got it. Thanks. Have you shared your impressions or comparison of the amp section anywhere? I only got to try it as a DAC/Amp and I was really impressed. I couldn’t really tell if the DAC was holding the amp section back or if it was integral to its performance. I was ready to buy it back in Nov. But it costs close to $7000 in India, even after discount. So I dropped the idea.

Midwest to West Coast is not far to send Yggdrasil. Before I saw this post, I was going to suggest the upgrade - due to the amplifier you use. I know I was happy with A2 upgrade of my Yggdrasil, and that was with tubes in my amplifiers. With solid state, I would not have used A1 for long.
