I think most of those that I've seen have been carry-overs from the Changstar days that just haven't contributed as much on SBAF

Have been sitting on 3 great Schiit DACs recently - OG Gungnir Multibit, Gungnir Multibit A2, and Yggdrasil A2. Time to finally offload OG Gungnir Multibit I think.

Neither of those yet, but I’ve acclimated to GA2 enough at this point to know I prefer it over the OG. Therefore, off she goes to a good home (I hope).

@zonto to your PM about smoothness in the treble, I don’t get that Yggdrasil A2 is smoother than GumBy2. For the stuff I listen to, G2 is warmer and fuller and seems a bit more forgiving on top than Y2, although in a different way Gumby1 did, which is just softer overall. I don’t know that it’s going to soften things on top the way you’re hoping. Y2 is more extended and transparent up top IMO.

To overall impressions, I’ll stick to my initial impressions: G2 is fuller and denser in tone, but also a bit more blunt/dry. Y2 is wetter but also leaner and slightly less forgiving. However if soundstage, layering, microplankton and atmosphere is high on your list of priorities, Y2 wins.

My Yggdrasil A was like this too. I remember my wife and I were watching the Friends series on Netflix at the time, and after we swapped in the Yggdrasil vs. the Oppo BDP-105 DAC we were using previously it was crazy how voices sounded. Distortion and clipping, almost like the microphone gain was up too high or something. Smoothed out a bit by the time we watched an episode the next evening.
