ZMF Hifiman+ Subs

Last Friday I stopped by ZMF to check out the new Hifiman pads. Zach was kind enough to demo both the lambskin and hybrid pads on his Susvara. They’re both very similar to stock, it’s tough to tell just how close when listening on a new chain. The amp was the Aegis, DAC was a Theta. (Aegis could easily drive Susvara BTW) This is the first time I’ve preferred lambskin pads over alternatives. When using Caldera, Auteur, Utopia, Diana, etc I’ve always preferred suede or Alcantara.



After returning home on my chain, I was able to better hear the differences between stock and lambskin. Frequency response is very similar. The lambskin gives a slightly more aggressive bite to the attacks. If you’ve ever thought Susvara was too ethereal or soft, these pads could help.
