I received my Schiit Bifrost Multibit on Friday! So far, seems to be on par with what everyone is reporting. I started off with Magni 2 Uber / Modi 2 Uber. Then upgraded to Asgard 2 - love this amp. I am really please so far with the upgrade to the bifrost multibit from the Modi 2 Uber. Sorry to just repeat what has been said so many times. sound stage is larger , more "3d" . Clarity and instrument separation is better too as well a "location" of instruments. Mind you this is just a few hours into listening, so I expect some improvement with more time.

    ETA: My set up:
    Asus Transformer T-100A
Amazon Basics 4 port USB Hub (USB 2.0)
Western Digital My book external 2 TB hard drive
    Schiit Bifrost Multibit (via USB)
    Schiit Asgard 2

Notice any significant change in volume coming from the modi?

I have a MB pro 2105 Retina with USB 3.0 and had no problems with either Gungnir Multibit or Yggdrasil.

I'm so jealous of your Mac from the future! ;)
In my present environment, my mini with usb 3.0 has no issues with Bifrost Multibit.

    Hi,
I am noticing an increase in volume. Depending on the song, I seem to be comfortable around the 12 o'clock volume knob position(Asgard 2 - low gain). Where as with the Modi 2 Uber , it was more around 2:00-2:30ish ? Again depending on the song.

My New Biforst Multibit cycles through the inputs for a few seconds before it clicks on to my chosen input (usb). Is this normal?

I'm guessing this has to do with it being multibit? My Modi 2 Uber doesn't cycle through the inputs, it just powers on to my chosen input (usb)

As per Mike, the delay is time for the 2 processors to initialize and reset to start along with time for the analog servos to settle.

Bifrost Multibit is best left on.

A few more hours listening to my Bifrost Multibit.
I did add the Schiit Wyrd last Tuesday to the chain - figured it can't hurt. ;)

    So it's Asus Transformer (MediaMonkey)USB >Wyrd>Bifrost Multibit>Asgard 2>AKG-Q701.

I am awed at the what I am hearing - beautiful......just beautiful. So, if the Bifrost Multibit sounds this good, I can't help but read up on the Gungnir Multibit, can it really sound better yet?

Come on Schiit, you guy's are killing me!(my wallet actually)

Though, If I don't intend to change amp as well (balanced) headphones, probably makes sense sticking with the Bifrost Multibit.

Sorry if this question might sound a little silly, but when I turned on the laptop connected to the Bifrost Multibit this morning, it clicked even though it had been 'on'. Does this mean it wasn't actually staying warm overnight?

I could be wrong, but you could have heard the click because perhaps:

    A) the Bifrost Multibit's driver wasn't loaded at startup yet and you heard the click when the Bifrost Multibit took over as default playback device or

    B) Windows audio started up first with Windows, and then the "click" from the Bifrost Multibit was it taking over as the default playback device. That is just a guess though.

It just clicks when the usb in the laptop wakes up. If the Bifrost Multibit is on, the dac is getting power and staying warmed up.

Just ordered my first taste of Schiit... The Valhalla 2 to pair with my HD800's. The plan was to wait a few months and then order the Bifrost multibit but damn, after reading through this thread, it is going to be really hard to wait. Maybe if I buy my wife something nice it will distract her from the credit card statements. Schiit could maybe add to the accessories section items to distract your partners so postage could be combined with audio gear.
