Would daytons work? I thought the 10" Seas drivers were made to the specifications of Linkwitz for the LX521

I did some proper calculations, a single 15 inch dayton ultimax with 60cm dipole separation and the same max spl will go down to 20 hz, and 2xseas 10 inch with 40 cm separation will go to 30-ish hz. Apparently running 2 drivers back to back helps reduce even order harmonics. Not sure what to think of it.
I also have 2 daytons classic subs already of which one can do as well as 2xseas in terms of max spl available.

I've never understood why 10'' in these. Aesthetics? The thing looks ugly as f**k anyways. I'd use at least 15 inch bass.

Probably to keep the whole thing as slim as possible and to use 2 to reduce distortion. It's easier to control a 10 inch driver than a 15 inch. That's just my speculation, I don't really get it either, hence my confusion. I'm also looking for very small true dipole tweeters to play around, but apparently, no such things exist. It should have way to small a baffle probably.

Some ribbons/planars might do it. I don't think the baffle size is the main issue here. The direct energy from back reflections that the baffle would eat is minimal. It needs to be open back with ideally same symmetry on back as front (very little in the way of obstructions), but in this sense, yes ideal one doesn't exist, probably.

well, the diameter should not be more than 2-3 cm. if you know of any ribbon, planar or estat like that I'm sold

I've even considered turning my mini tesla coils into plasma tweeters but I don't like ozone so...
