They changed it so the "X" close box is considered "accepting" download and once started there is no stopping. Complete malware approach to getting people to "upgrade" which I had consciously not done.People complain about Apple walled-garden, but worse thing I can think is being given a free U2 album that some of us actually wanted. MSFT f'ing hijacked my computer which is barely functioning under Windoze 10.

When they installed it you could have just chose not to install it and it reverts back to windows 7.

There was no way to stop the installation. After the fact I have read you could not accept the EULA agreement and it would roll back but (i) I did not know that at time (and my firm's tech person said I needed to let it run or risk my hard drive crashing) and (ii) reports are that when not accepting it reverts to earlier Windows but software and files may be lost.

I am in process of backing up my computer to current date on external hardrive and then will revert to 7. But MSFT's trickery is the issue here, not my dissatisfaction with Windows 10.

I also was not given the opportunity to backup before the update since it launched unwanted. I would never do a willing OS upgrade without a full external backup first. Totally effed up that they put their users at such risk with forced update without data backup.

I call them Micro$haft. Operating system has become operated system, and not by the user. I decided a long time ago to stick with Win7. Load up 7, install the bare minimum security updates, AVOID all the Win10-related forced/upgrade updates and disable Windows Updates. Only way to avoid the shamelessly, invasive excrement that is Win10 (IMO).
