I don’t know I haven’t seen much buzz about the Rag2 only the Rag1 so I don’t know what it sounds like. I suppose I should search the forums. But it’s balanced only which is really annoying considering how many of the best amps are SE. It’s hard to setup a rig for both.
I wasn't around for Schiit's evolution over the last 10 years. It seems the Mjolner is the headphone amp that seems missing from their lineup when I look at it. And it is. It will be interesting to see if they come up with something else in that price range or if they decide the lack luster sales means it's not a great price range to be in.
Aside from parts shortages, I think they also found that particular form factor was not particularly great for desktops, where a lot of people use headphones. Rag is as wide and deep and taller but is an integrated amp for speakers as well, so a different use case. I’m very curious what they release in place of the Mjolnir 2.
