LCD-4 is probably the best. Resolution and very low distortion giving them a clean, smooth presentation. LCD-R is next, with a unique presentation of detail and tube iike tonality. Detail is almost pushed to the front with the LCD-R. But they're not as refined as the LCD-4 and I don't think they're more resolving, just that details are more obvious.
Then LCD-X which is not that far behind either. I think my modded LCD-X is the best for price/performance.
Then probably my modded vintage Yamaha HP-1 Anistropic. Then My YH-3
Then my modded HE6se. I think some people would place this higher on the list, I'm just not a fan of the Hifiman tonality which can only be changed so much with mods.
There's a 4z b-stock listed on Audeze's BF sale page, it has your name on it @rhythmdevils . Maybe you can use to figure out how to mod the Audeze variants using the MG chassis?
