In my research, it would seem that the Lyr might be a better choice - looking for a bit of color, more slam, and to take the edge off the treble a bit. I did not like the Jot 2 with the Hilo/Clears - I found it flat and a bit soft. My understanding the Lyr 3 is more detailed.

For me Lyr 3 didn’t fix the problems i had with it, EQ, then a smoother dac did help. But I’m still not completely happy with the treble and mids. Timbre has still a bit of a gritty quality in the sibilance region. Think i’ll listen to HD650 kiss for a while before i decide on where to go. LCD-X(C) is calling to me…

Both the 600s and 650 (kiss mod) work great with the Hilo headphone out. I crave the detail of the Clears, though. I really enjoy the dynamics and the "clarity" of them. I can do a couple hours with them on the Hilo and then I just need switch to the HDs. In direct comparison, the HDs feel a bit grey - but this goes away after a while and I just enjoy.

Yeah perhaps switching it up more often is the solution. Does the Lynx have peq?

No, but I could play with the one in Roon. I am a noob as far as PEQ goes - I wish they had a simpler multiband EQ. The Lynx has a 30 band analyzer, though, which might help me correlate what's botherinf me. I think you're right - I should take some time and figure out an EQ setting that would help with the Clears.

Whoa. It's like another headphone with those settings. They're more 600-y. I will investigate this further!
