@purr1n, granting that you don’t care about the soundstage of headphones, is there any way to measure whether a headphone will or won’t have a gap in the soundstage? If any one else knows or has a guess, please reply.

Nope. I haven't figured that one out.

@Claritas you asked for a guess - I think you would want drivers that are angled to be coincident with the angle that your pinna protrude from your skull, or even more to the front. This can be done with angled earpads or built into the enclosure of the headphone. On-ears are good at this if they don't clamp too hard. And for a clear center, good channel matching too.

Somehow, I end up thinking of the Sony MA-900. @purr1n , do you still use them? Do they hold up?
