Gorgeous. And based on the NY show, I imagine the sound is even better than the looks. My wife might like speakers too, if my setup didn't, "look like RadioShack"
Studio would be great for the widebander. I am not sure whether 6W can drive those woofers as well. That said my Rag only needs medium gain 3 o'clock max. Might only be using less than 4W
@Muse Wanderer Might be a worthwhile compromise for the owner if he does not care about bass quality as much. If he gets a Vidar for the woofers and the bi-amping crossover, he would be pretty much set.
Absolutely...been thinking about biamping as best solution for the future. Bass quality is too good to screw it up with tubes. Solid state is not ideal for treble though. For now Rag will do.
@Muse Wanderer - I think sensitivity goes up as woofer size increases. PAP sells 15" woofers and they are spec'd to 93dB. Ive seen 12" pro-woofers at 96dB. You get better plenty of sound at 1W.
Yep.. sensitivity is 94db (Vox is 100 db on its own) which is why Rag drives them at same 'knob level' as Utopias. 6W should be enough for volume but not sure whether even a good tube amp as Studio can deliver great bass quality as SS. Biamp is best of both worlds.
@Cspirou to get reasonable sensitivity the impedance is around 4 Ohm or lower in the bass region (in my case it's 3 Ohm even), so not tube amp friendly despite 94-100db sensitivity (depending on tuning and baffles)
@Serious Good to know. Based on the specs, the OB-A15neo is at minimum 6.28 ohms? Would I be correct in assuming that when run in parallel in the case of the trio15s, would the impedance between them be halved?
