I bought this tiny $27.oo amp with a $17.00 d1.jpg d2.jpg d3.jpg 19v, 11.5amp power supply on Ali express based on a friend raving about it, its cheap so I thought I would have some fun. Heres the low down this little amp/dac kicks ass, Im not kidding or exagerating . Smooth, good detail not sure if the bass is up to par. Im using an Etir with a $6.00 amazon coax cable and cold with any breakin im really enjoing it. A fun amp/dac thats cheap and sounds good, who would of thought.

It has a v shape to my ears, slight decrease in the mid richness, bass is slightly shallow in the mids, overall quite nice. Excellent for small system, desk, office 2 channel

I’m afraid to ask what’s on top of it and why.

cables were pulling it over, so a lead puck to hold it in place

happy to send this out for a loaner, Shogunshane graciously offered to create the list if there's interest.
Its surprisingly good, I was listining last night and was very happy with the sound, small complaints, nothing major. One very nice thing is the top end is clean and sweet.
    best,
    Josh

This is legit good, thanks for the tip off @Josh Schor !

Douk sent it to me with a generic 12v switcher. I plugged it in in my attic workroom with Go Blu as source (the on board Bluetooth is a rubbish codec, really just a convenience feature) and some Mordaunt Short MS10 classic britfi speakers I picked up for $40. I thought it sounded about what I'd expect for the price, a bit soupy in the lower mids but in a nice way, fairly good openness and clarity, not bad microdynamics but with some obvious (to me) treble nasties and slight haziness which marred the overall picture.

However like many I have a box of bits from which I conjured a 12v 5a LPSU, one of the $75US jobs from china. Turns out it is super sensitive to power. With the LPSU it sounds really great, very energetic and open, treble is smooth but not rolled, no weird mid colouration, no digital nasties and genuinely good microdynamics. These speakers don't go beyond upper bass but what is there sounds solid.

If I have to nitpick it's maybe a bit artificially snappy but the overall energy and openness is great, seems to work super well with these speakers. I actually feel the speakers may be the limiting factor here!

Well he is sending me one of his he did all that to and Im sending him mine, should be fun. this thing is really good, hard to believe and its true.

    Josh

Why do I suspect the Douk is better than the Bakoon? o_O

It's probably time to jump into some class D from Infineon and TI. I was never totally against class D. I liked the sound and price of the Tripath stuff. Should do a Thunderdome of cheap TPA3255 vs MA12070 amps from Amazon.
