I bought this from someone who built it, I sent it to Pancakes who checked it out, cleaned up the wiring and added the TKD 10k pot. So why am I selling it, I keep buying solid state amps trying to find a solid state amp thats as good as a tube amp. I am comparing it to a Studio B which is tricked out and sounds amazing. The amp is 40 watts per side into 8ohm and 65 into 4 ohms, its is clean and very reveling. It has the slow start in it. The speakeron jacks are not wired up I do not find it fatiguing just not to my taste. I spend $1,100 on it and would sell to friends and contributors for $900 including shipping. PM if interested.
    best,
    Josh

Just to toss some extra info in there, it looks like it has the Power-86 psu.

Any idea what the gain is?

Yup, it's all Neurochrome (including the chassis). The gain can be checked on the Neurochrome site.

I was going to twist all the wiring inside but there's no noise so I didn't bother (signal wiring is twisted though).

Oh right, the gain is default 20db, though looking at the spec section he says it can be increased if needed.

So attempting! FYI everyone @Pancakes does incredible work he’s made me some things in the past that are just immaculate. I’m tempted to buy this just because he worked on it. But I don’t need another SS amp.

    Someone should pick this up.

Pfft, since when has "need" ever factored into an audio purchasing decision?

I've built one of these as well. Some of the better solid state I've experienced.

If anyone (friend) would like to try it at home I am open to shipping it to you. You could pay after adutioning it or pay to ship it back. Please no "want to hear it" only those really interested in buying it.
    best,
    Josh

I love my Modulus 186 monos. They replaced a Hegel H360. If a clean, neutral, detailed sound with soundstage width and depth for days is your jam, you should seriously consider this amp.

Damn, if it weren't for a border between us this would have been super tempting. I would probably wire up the speakon connectors and then use it for my HE-6 like the nutjob that I am.
