The government’s change of its P2P taxation limit from $20K to $600 has been a disaster for the audio world, and will either be a boon for buyers with sellers now lowering prices even more to make up for the lost 3rd party protection or sellers will end up eating the taxes on deals (which adds up if you sell a lot).

Luckily at SBAF, an excellent example of a high trust online society, we have a little something called a Friend badge (and I’d say some Contributors) that makes it okay to use cashapp, Venmo, or F&F safely and with confidence.

The extra, but I’d like to believe unnecessary peace-of-mind idea here of half upfront and half on receipt is a great one!

AFAIK, it is only the threshold for reporting that changed. The definition of income hasn't changed. If you sell something used for less than it cost you (like every used gear transaction I have been involved in) there is no income to be taxed.
