HE-X vs HE-6

If somebody mod the HEK seriously, will the marvel appear?

 

I'm thinking of buying these bad boys (HEX) but I'm afraid it won't satisfy the basshead in me. I have Oppo PM-2 which sounds somewhat soft and dull, and while its bass is good, it's not great, certainly not that fun. All the impressions I see indicate that HEX has a similar sound signature. Anyone who has heard both can say anything about it?

Somehow it never caught on... Seriously though, it sounded much better with vegan and blutack mod.
