I have a nice silver balanced cable for my Verite Closed headphones, but the amp end terminates to a 4-pin male XLR.

My amp doesn't have a balanced XLR input, so I want to re-terminate the cable to a standard 3.5 mm jack instead.

I want to confirm what I'm going to solder:

The "1" L+ wire goes to the tip; the "3" R+ wire goes to the ring.

But what about the "2" L- and "4" R- ground wires? Do I solder them both to the sleeve? I suspect yes, but I'm hoping someone with direct knowledge can verify this.

I don't want to blow up my amp.
