    WHAT?

    $260 gets you:

    • Valhalla 2 with stock tubes, cable, original packaging
      • (unknown hours on stock tubes, but certainly nowhere close to end of life),
    • Matched amperex OG's (~$50 value, see below),
    • Complete set of 70's era Soviet NOS input and output tubes (purchased separately, described below, weren't as expensive as the matched OG's).
    • Price includes insured shipping, and presumes payment from friend by paypal gift.
      • If no gift / no friend, price is $275.
      • NOTE: I paid $275 for this kit 2 months ago. You do the math.
This is a great start for fools who want to tube roll, and a great kit for people who want a taste of what the OG's can do to your Sennheisers.

    BUT, WHY?

Selling my Valhalla 2 as I have the set up that I need for now. You can read my thoughts on Valhalla 2 vs Jotun here. This is the second time I have owned the V2, and I still f'ing love it. When I sold my Mjolnir 2 to accommodate baby #2's early arrival (f**k you, daycare), I knew I wanted V2 again. The only problem was what to do for my speakers; Jotun answered that so I'm selling.

    WHAT ELSE?
    • This was once @Hands' Valhalla 2, he sold it to @zonto by private sale, who then graciously offered it to me by private sale, because he's cool and knew I was needing to downsize and that I loved the V2. What condition is it in? I don't f'ing know... everything works and there are no visible scratches on the metal casework. @schiit overbuilds their gear so it won't fail, and this is no exception. What I cannot speak to are the unspeakable things that either of the prior owners did to this unit, but both seem like non-invasive gear fetishists. The unit has no offensive smells and is not sticky anywhere that I had to touch to get it set up...
    • Hands bought the OG's from this link. Zonto bought the extra soviet tubes through some tubelord in Scotland. After very limited testing I used the soviet NOS output tubes with the amperex OG's. I probably only put another 30-40 hours on the soviets and OG's. Plenty of life in all the tubes. Here is what zonto had to say about the soviet tubes:
      • "Pair of 70s 6N1P from the Reflektor or Voshkod factory (stock 6N1P input tubes are from a factory I'm not familiar with, maybe Orzeo?) and a pair of pair of precision matched 70s 6N6P output tubes from a contact of mine in Scotland. I'd use the latter over the stock 6N6P for sure, given next-to-no hours and guaranteed matching. I didn't put many hours on the other 6N1P, but they definitely fit in the amp better; pins are more full than the stock 6N1P so they give better contact."
    Call me! PM me!

Lol!!! I'm glad you took some cues from my thread to address any possible concerns that buyers may have. They would have definitely had questions considering @Hands once owned it. GLWS!

Sorry I forgot to PM you right after it had sold.

Looks like you included most of the info about the tubes, but happy to clarify if any potential buyers have further questions (except as to the unspeakable things I did to the unit—they are unspeakable after all...). GLWS!

SOLD! and locally to boot! I don't know what's more exciting, getting the sale or learning there was another person in wee Madison with shared interest in headphones! Thanks to all, happy listening!

    Mods can move this accordingly.
