I know your question was tongue in cheek, but here's a serious answer. I haven't seen any pics taken from right. My guess is there's one on each side. Your OCD will be appeased

I think the offset logo on the cup looks kinda cool, and appears fairly benign acoustically.

We now return programming to your regularly scheduled masturbatory speculation.

I just find it curious they sent one of the first run production models to a headphone event in Rotterdam with no pre-publicly or even a sign at the show. Just sitting off to the side. It just doesn't seem like a marketing plan from a large company that has a lot of confidence in its product. I could be wrong. Hoping I am. Guess I'm more cautious after decades in the hobby. Not cynical. But have seen a lot of hype that turned into meh after things settle down.

I was hoping it is off center rather than one logo on each side. (Some HD25s with the same thing printed on their split headbands gave me that idea.) Off center looks wrong but two logos seems worse. Asymmetrical designs used to really bug me when I was a kid, sometimes they still do but not as much or as often.

I have no plans to buy one of these, from what I've read so far. Yet I still care about stuff like this. How is that for OCD? :)

Edit: I had not seen the @gixxerwimp post when I posted this.

Based solely on Jude's plots I would recommend to the average dude to buy the HD6xx from Massdrop. Like @Marvey said, seems like less bass and treble. Jude's impressions there seem sort of JA-ish.

Distortion plots are indeed something that would be interesting to see. Particularly due to the differences in impedance. I wager the HD660S will do worse than the HD6x0/HD6xx but better than the HD5x8/9. Which may put it solidly in expensive mediocrity land (with less bass and treble).

Did I mentioned that the HD6xx is likely not only better, but cheaper? (notice I said likely, this is speculation)

Pics posted on HF from AxelCloris. Looks like the logo is only one side of the headband. They do look really great with that embossed grille.

Perhaps this is why they need to revitalize the brand at this price point. The massdrop stuff could have taken too much value of this line and made the HD650/HD600 seem ordinary to most people.

I understand you're not hating on HF here, but HF has got a lot of things right. Being a Rando who's still not completely used to SBAF, I can tell you it's much harder to navigate through content here than HF, even though I LOVE the quality here. The learning curve is just too much (along with the culture shock, which i've come to appreciate :D ). There's simply too much tribal knowledge, like where to look for reviews (typical introduction for a neophyte to this website), personal taste, who the super-star reviews are and what is appreciated.
I remember the first time I came when I was trying to read reviews for K7xx and it was a nightmare to me. Even the HD650 love thread was hundreds of pages long (with of course a lot of interesting content). It would be incredibly useful to me to see SBAF have a separate product review page with well laid out reviews & comments and some way to navigate across different reviews by the same reviewer.
Mods, not sure if this content belongs here. I din't want to open a new thread for this either. Please move it to a different thread if necessary.

Exactly. They may be trying to avoid this effect to some degree.

    @Ice-man Prepare for meltdown :p

Edit: The headband parts might be interchangeable, so you could swap back to your symmetrical 650 stylings.

Senn finally started their own thread on HF in the Sponsor Announcements and Deals forum, almost 2 weeks after someone posted the content from their website.

Am I the only one who wishes Sennheiser would put different pads on their hd6 series headphones? They aren't awesome, but they don't suck either. I find them kind of... Meh.

ZMF Auteur pads on my HD650? Yes please, if only to discover what sonic changes could be had. (And to get away from itchy felt-like substances.)

Took a quick break from studying for test tomorrow to do this:

    Red line = 660S
    Green line = 650

...not gonna say anything extra that hasn't already been said. Will just crawl back to my desk to do more studying now. Don't want a textbook flying in my face again. :p

Edit: actually, I lied. Here's what I'm hoping the final FR of the HD660 will be like:

Might as well inject my $0.02 in case someone at Sennheiser is actively taking notes. I'd like to see the HD660S as being more than just a more efficient HD650.

Guess these aren't a day 1 buy for me based on the measurements. Not sure we were clamoring for a warmer 650.

I dislike these photos. Top two - blacks are too dark. Bottom two are too bright - like right after the snowstorm in the morning on Hoth. Someone needs to learn how to use exposure compensation. Also, subject matter needs to take up more of the frame. Please cease posting photos from randos, especially if they are bad, and hard on the eyes. What is this? The JDS Element of photography?

Let's not forget these are Jude's measurements. After his charade with the MDR-Z1R, I am highly skeptical of anything he releases (irrespective of how expensive the rig is). My hunch is that he doesn't actually care about measurements or analysis. And that his whole reason for investing in the pricey analyzer etc was to chip away at the advantage that others had built in this space. For him, measurements seem to be just another marketing tool. He seems to be ok with twisting the results to tell whatever story he was going to tell anyway. "The MDR-Z1R doesn't have a treble spike at 10 kHz, so let's make some measurements that show that." "The HD660S sounds very similar to the much loved HD650 even though it uses a completely different driver based on the one in the HD700." And so on. That's my impression, perhaps unfair, but it is what it is.

Thankfully, we have multiple independent sources of measurement data now, and before too long we'll learn the real story.

He tweaked them to make the differences between the pads more obvious, and put them in a spoiler to save people's eyes. @LetMeBeFrank didn't do the same for yours.

Assuming there isn't a negative impact I would actually consider buying these pads when I need to replace the ones on my 6XX instead of the standard 580/600/650 pads, I've never liked my ears touched the pads and this would be one step closer to achieving that without returning to the HD800.

EDIT: Reading further it looks like somebody already beat me to that train of thought.

The problem is that Google Photo image addresses don't have a file type at the end (.jpg, .png, etc). If you try to use it in a post, forum software doesn't think it's an image and rejects it. A workaround is to append ?.jpg to the end of the image URL.
