By this terrified corporate logic if there was a record of what everyone ever said every single damn person on the planet would get fired over saying dumb shit.
This is no different than a friend of yours buying space in the local newspaper and calling you a cracker as a prank. A couple days later, you do the same and call him the n-word. To him, and you, it's funny. To a whole bunch of other people, it's not. This isn't shit-talking each other over a beer on your back deck, this is putting your comments into the permanent record.
If someone doesn't understand that Twitter, Facebook, etc. have the same exposure and permanence, they'd be best served by not using them in the first place

@Poleepkwa, I don't disagree. But the climate is steadily changing, and big corporations (and small, and individuals) are struggling to get ahead of the curve.
