that's the least of it! endless tire-kicking, low ball offers, "commitments", and my new all-time favorite, agreeing to a price and then paypalling something quite different.
I can tolerate some tire kicking. Not above it myself, from time to time. The other shit, not so much. Especially the latter innovation. :/ That's a great way to get me to cancel a sale outright.
I've run into a bunch of sketchy shit over there recently, so I've basically stopped browsing the classified section. Failed transactions, unverified shipping addresses, people that were totally trying WTB scams on me, etc.
Had a guy buy a set of phones. Month later wanted to return them. I said no, week later usps delivered them to my door. His cc company came after PayPal & they took the cash back.
Stuff like that makes me want to set up a Docusign account, and use that for sales in the future. Nothing like a nice, clear, binding legal document to clear up the situation.
Weirdest thing that happened to me was when I listed a headphone and someone messaged me to text him (had messaging restrictions?). Anyway, I text him and he stops responding and I find another buyer, no problem at all. Couple days later, the dude who I texted gets all needy, incessantly whines, asks if I was free this weekend? I don't even know lol
@Ray i literally cant believe that flew...people think they can return used headphones to a regular person? You arent a god damned store. Did you even try to fight it?
It's almost impossible to fight it unless you get in writing agreement that there are no returns or refunds. My dad was put through the wringer over something similar.
