1. How digital filters in DACs may sound analog/digitus, dry/wet, and some discoveries about tap length, quantization error, truncation error, and windowing funcitons
2. Linearizing output impedance of amplifiers, building tubish amps with FETs, square law and exponential law in the real world, and theory about cancelling 3rd order distortion
3. A (so far) failed experiment damping playner drivers on the diaphragm, the thinnest diaphragm war, Fs vs breakup frequency for playners, and my theory about ortho wall. Tbh I still need more experiment on this topic to confirm my theories
If those topics are too much of a headache, then maybe for entertainment 4. astrological analysis on the collapse of FTX and Alameda research. Can't promise it won't get political and personal though.
I'd like to read about "building tubish amps with FETs". Could you create a thread that journals your experimentation with diaphragms, explaining the theory behind it as you go?
Not sure if this is your humorous way of saying the "Monkey Business" thread is too nerdy or not LOL. In any case, I'm interested in learning from you.
It might take too much technical background to see the entire picture, but I will supply a lot of graphs to visualize the correlations. Understanding log axis plots should be the minimum requirement. I haven't seen many people plot impulse response on log axis prior to this, so it might be somewhat nuance.
I haven't start reading teh "Monkey Business" thread yet, but plan to read it soon. Thanks for the awesome contents! I'm writing these topics just to clear my memory. I've been quiet and away for a while, just wanna flush out my thoguhts before uncertainties comes again IRL in the near future.
I’d be interested in all that. I think Peef has also done a lot of experiments using transistors in tube-like configurations as well as Doug from ECP Audio. Get as technical as you want. Lots of DIY people around here like the technical details
