Have an A1. Loaded some LIM cards, no output. It locked to the signal on all the inputs, just no analog out. Put the A1 cards back in, still no output? I am sending back to Schiit, but am I missing something?
Also, check the eprom chip is the correct orientation. Indent towards the back of the chassis. Your symptoms are exactly what my unit acts like with a bad eprom chip.
@RestoredSparda , did you have to send back to Schiit both boards and the eprom for them to tell you have a bad eprom? Or did they know you have a bad eprom right off the bat and sent you a new one? I recently tried to do MIB upgrade but have the same no output issue. Flipped back to LIM boards/chip and everything is fine.
@dirtyunderwear Yes I sent back the MIB cards and eprom. They did not offer to send just a chip after asking in emails (never replied to that request). I'm hoping these work or there is something else going on with incompatiblity... should arrive Monday. I switched back to A2 boards/chip and fine as well.
@RestoredSparda , thanks for confirming. I'm sending my back boards/chip next week for inspection. Was secretly hoping I could just buy a new chip. Maybe I should've worn that grounding strap after all haha. Would be interested to hear the outcome of your new parts. Keep us posted!
Hey @dirtyunderwear. New MIB cards and chip arrived. After carefully installing I am still not getting audio out. I reached out to Schiit again. Something is not working with non-plus Yiggy units I suspect. Is yours a plus or original yiggy?
@RestoredSparda , damn that's not too encouraging. My Yggdrasil is OG (not +). Interesting theory about possibility of the MIB cards not working with the old chassis. I still find it hard to believe that I so easily "damaged" something during the swap attempt. @Azimuth , your Yggdrasil is totally dead in the water then? No boards/chips make sound?
Correct @dirtyunderwear. Both the A1 and LIM cards will "lock" to the incoming signal, but no analog output whatsoever. That goes for the upgraded firmware chip and the original firmware chip. My guess is that something is wrong with the muting relay circuit. I bet if I measured output from the card, it would be there. But it is boxed up and I am sending it back to Schiit.
I would email Schiit @dirtyunderwear. They got back to me and finally stated the non-plus chassis needs a slightly different chip for the MIB cards as the firware is different on the front panel. They are sending that now to me.
