something w/ ROHM chip baby!

Somebody build the ROHM dev board

What DACs currently use the ROHM chip? I have heard it in the Ibasso DX320 and it sounded great but the only two desktop DACs I know of are a middling SMSL one and some ORFAS level one.

I swear I saw a Gustard last week w the chip but I must have been seeing things as it is no where to be found....still would be chifi however.

There’s the SMSL D300 ($400). Not sure what else, except some Cayin DAP.

Do a liquor loaner.

Someone has a Gustard r26 available...let me know if that one is interesting to SBAF.

@CEE TEE funny enough, what is being sent to me is indeed an R2R DAC

Sign me up for around mid April, I can do a direct comparison between it & Holo Cyan 2 - they are about the same price if memory serves

@Merrick SMSL also has a high-end rohm DAC (the VMV D2R), though I've no idea of its quality. (I actually technically tried it at CanJam with the P2 but I don't think that's a good environment for actually assessing a DAC. I will say the P2/D2R combo didn't sound bad to me though.)

@Eric Rosenfield Thanks, I didn’t know about this one! I personally would hesitate to buy a $1k SMSL unit, they don’t seem to make the most reliable gear, but I would like to hear it.
