brain fog, muscle aches & weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, etc. Side effects hit me hard and outweigh any potential benefit, for me. Doesn't affect everyone this way. I'd rather pass on than be a living vegetable.

An example of statin brain fog: out for a walk, 2 miles from home and suddenly not recognizing surroundings for a short period, feeling lost, having to call wife for directions. As the brain fog lifts this is no longer an issue.

another example: setting out to measure Cyan 2 on the dScope and not being able to configure appropriately, knowing full well I once knew how to do it. Today I am recovering those memories and Cyan 2 is undergoing measurement suite.

Do you ever video record yourself setting up/talking through/configuring your measurements? It doesn't have to be production quality; just enough to help jog the memory cells.

Statins are absolute junk, get well soon!

I can only hope that the side effects will be an acceptable price for longer term benefits. You deserve health and happiness.

@Jinxy245 : I did not acclimate as doctors hoped. Will be trying some alternative methods to achieve the desired effect without life altering side effects.

Glad your wife seems healthier these days and I wish the same for you as well. You are a treasure.

Glad you identified a cause for how you were feeling, bob. At the ripe age of 40 I was put on Rosuvastatin (generic Crestor) about a month ago and was fearful of side-effects, but have been thankfully free of any obvious ones, at least.

@internethandle : works for some of which you are fortunate to be one. Others can suffer miserably.
@Erroneous : thank-you she is getting around pretty well now. We both are back to having smiles on our faces.

Statins are shit. My med record says I am allergic to statins (yes thanks to those side effects, stopped after 4 -6 wks and two types ), Drs no longer say hey you need to be on statins. And no $$$ for big pharma and just a slight bit above the level they set to get everyone on them.

When you actually take a deep dive into the science, lower cholesterol from statin use has a lower all cause morbidity stat of something approximating 12 days. IIRC
