Not sure many Bliss owners are on SBAF. I had one for 3 months earlier this year. @Vtory had one, maybe? I'm on MJ3 loaner tour so will offer some vague, general comparative impressions that will likely be next to useless.

But to your wider point, maybe some requests for comparisons could go in the first post of loaner tour threads? It's a great idea.

Yeah I'm already using the v3 in my living room so I guess the real cost to upgrade would be the full price of the unit, but it might be worth it a shot if it can fit the Sparkos without needing socket extenders.

I had to use dip-8 extenders for the sparkos boards in mine.

also, i wouldn't bother running balanced in. from looking at the board, it's got some kind of summing circuit with a separate IC in the balanced ciruit that dumps into the SE circuit.

They should use Orthos at show. In Canjam NY they were on display with ZMF headphones plugged in on most tables.

My speakers have about a 4dB shelf-drop above 16kHz and then down about 8dB at 20kHz; I figured I wouldn't notice it much, and played with eq-ing it up, but that didn't change much. I've got the x-over on the supertweeters set at 16kHz at -2dB, but I'm still playing with levels. So far, the more subtle the effect the better, imo.

Also, I'm toying with putting these on a personal loaner since there was some chatter a little while ago expressing interest.

I'm getting older and spent my early 20's-30's playing in noise bands and going to noise & metal shows, all with no hearing protection, so I can't hear anything above 15ish khz - probably irrelevant for me at this point.

Galvanic isolation and reduced RF induced noise, absolutely. Not digital voodoo though, the ones and zeroes remain the same.

I do think it’s weird that optical SPDIF is considered the worst when fiber is at the center of large networks. I don’t think it’s the medium itself and they just stopped improving optical SPDIF whereas network fiber kept improving

I’ve had it for almost a year, it’s very neat. Some peace of mind. Wish we could get a little streamer with a sfp cage.

Oh well one day. Ps audio has a new streaming with no Ethernet, wifi only. So maybe there is something to it.

Follow up: boy were we idiots to think we could manage this... luckily Molly, the cow dog, is now with a good foster. She is adorable, and easy. Johnny had a very difficult time with the added complexity.

But, goodness, there's some beauty in his dogness that so reminds me of my girl Tucker. My GF said it so well: sometimes the dogs that are the hardest road take us to places we'd never imagined possible.
