USB Audio Class 2 drivers, which work over USB 2 or 3. It's the reason why you don't need to install a driver for most DACs to use them over USB on Mac/Linux/pretty much anything else, but you do need to on Windows. Windows is missing the generic class 2 USB audio drivers, so vendors need to supply their own currently, which is a massive PITA.
Yes, I'm aware of that. And I remember Schiit's response to the ongoing (then) Windows USB-Audio debacle.
Linux here, so now worries. Except of course, if the vendor decides to do something non-standard, which puts their device off the linux menu.
