    I actually have ordered a set of Yaxi pads, I figured for $12 may as well try them.
    
    Diminishing values started a while ago. Currently just have these and UERM's.

    I was going to say, No, you must be thinking of USB3.0. But I had the sense to google first!
    
    And it seems it is a thing, but is for the new USB "C" interfaces on phones. Perhaps the rest of us don't have to worry about it? Yet?

    USB Audio Class 2 drivers, which work over USB 2 or 3. It's the reason why you don't need to install a driver for most DACs to use them over USB on Mac/Linux/pretty much anything else, but you do need to on Windows. Windows is missing the generic class 2 USB audio drivers, so vendors need to supply their own currently, which is a massive PITA.

    Yes, I'm aware of that. And I remember Schiit's response to the ongoing (then) Windows USB-Audio debacle.
    Linux here, so now worries. Except of course, if the vendor decides to do something non-standard, which puts their device off the linux menu.

    what is the point of having a good amp like Lyr2 and not buying tubes that make it sound as good as possible? my Mjo2 has great NOS tube pairs and never looked back.

    I'm trying not to go too crazy with the tube rolling, I already have a bunch including OG's, but some of his are just awesome! And my Lyr is the original, still sounds great though. I need to clear out some of my tubes before getting any others (I have a bunch of Russian tubes but I am preferring the Holland tubes).

    agreed, tube crazy rolling is not worth the time or expense. plan on 2 or 3 pairs of good NOS and end there. Philips/RTC from Holland Heerlen plant, maybe Siemens CCa and done. eventually step to Lyr2 or Mjo2.
