I have! They sounded a bit dry/lean and had a hot spot somewhere in the low treble. Nothing terribly egregious and not sure what the modding potential is but I didn't like them as much as an off-the-shelf Audeze at the time.
Mine not too different from Evan. I didn't like its nasal and forwarding mids. Trebles sounded like V or W if I recall correctly. Done in unpleasing ways. I may rather take entry LCD or HFM over it.
I'm very unsure if it's really developed by Quad R&D team. Compared to my other pleasing experience of their spks, it feels like outsourcing or OEM to random company.
I seem to remember the ERA1 being, at least at some level, OEM rebranded. I could be entirely misremembering that though. They seem to have always had "meh, not amazing, not entirely terrible" feedback, especially for the price.
I've seen some really glowing reviews of the ERA-1s, even comparing them to likes of the LCD-4. I own a pair, and I don't think they're worthy of such high praise at all.
Frequently response has the typical planar missing mids, and they're pretty dark sounding. Correcting the frequency response with EQ helps a little, but their technical performance isn't very good, and they have a metalic boxiness which you can't get rid of.
