Well, "going to hear the DAVE tomorrow" has turned into "going to pick up the DAVE and bring it home tomorrow." Aug 6, 2018

Thats a lot of coin for an upsampler. However, I'd love to hear it, and the difference it supposedly makes to the DAVE or H2 (or HTT2 this fall.) Look cool too, IMO.

The name is crappy, I like the aesthetic, holy fucknuggets that pricetag. I am curious how it'd affect the sound of their DACs, but at the same time am thankful that I'll likely never be in a position to consider one.

Tried the Blu2 once with a Dave. Improves the resolution and transparency, but also increases the upper treble. Notes feel more decompressed. But I’d rather buy an expensive tube amp for that money.

I hope this at least lets some more people enjoy them, as they do sound great. Add in a discount if you can find one, and I could see these down around Vega/Andro pricing.

Both Amir and NWAVGuy seem to have a habit of accusing Head-fi of protecting their sponsors.

Now I feel bad recommending a Behringer because of Amir. It probably sounds like shit

Is there anyone with soldering knowledge out there who could help me with a cable project, as in I send you parts and you put it together?

You are unlikely to burn the house down, as long as you don't use a propane torch. You may melt some parts, waste a few inches of cable, and, most likely, burn yourself, But not the house. remember: immediately dunk finger, etc. in iced water.

I've soldered many amps and speakers. But I haven't done cables(yet), otherwise I would have offered my services. If my inexperience in this particular domain is fine with you then let me know.

I made one cable. I spent about 30 min trying to get the Paracord sleeve on. When I finally did and was soldering the connector, I accidentally let the cord rest on the soldering iron, melting the sleeving I just completed.

Be well, ask for and accept all the support you need.

Depending on the meds, you'll be withdrawing for another two months or so as the neuron receptor sites in your brain up-regulate.

Also, I will take your advice and not go to L.A., 'tis a silly place.

Doing some A/B'ing with the LCDi4 and Vega. Vega is holding its own. LCDi4 is the better of the two. However, isolation on the Vega is great

It is a capable transducer otherwise
Lower mid issue is a deal breaker for me
Build quality is excellent. Pads do seem to get knocked off easily though.

These are definitely on par with LCD 3 level headphones as they are fairly solid otherwise and very easy to drive.
They do not isolate well and leak sound so not great for daily portable use.
Good transients and handles complex music well. Very good with solo classical music. Not great with heavy rock or metal.

Very light. Pads tend to hug ears and sit on ears. Would be difficult if you had large ears or flared ears.

        RIP your profile.
