Balanced tone or volume control is not as simple as it seems, not all balanced output brands adhere to the balanced unofficial standard so it's a pain to cover all cases. The buffer stage in the Freya+ is useful but it’s crazy to buy one just for that. I’m not talking about simply a balanced Sys. But one with both passive and buffer modes. This would sell well I think.

Freya S has a 1X nexus mode. Is this not equivalent to a buffer stage? The idea Jason was throwing out is a mini Freya S in the first thread I linked.
