I dont mind doing big EQs personally, though I rarely do a boost more than +5, and that is only in bass. Had quite a few Beyers so sometimes needed big cuts! Eqing the upper mids is the most challenging to be sure, as we are most sensitive there, so one would need to dial in the Q factor carefully to get good results, but its certainly doable.
I am assuming they are doing a Zeos code as he was really the only reviewer to give a fully positive review though it is very odd I agree. I think they are also just not selling well and I am guessing they got a lot of returns/cancellations of it, Crinnacle slew them pretty hard as did some others. Stock tuning is just not going to appeal to most people, anyone who wasn't willing to EQ probably sent them back.
@HotRatSalad That's nearly no brainer to me (roughly the same level steal as he6se being sold at 600-700 usd). But it highly depends on what you really hate, what you can tolerate, and to what extent you can mess with them..
