FS: Focal Utopia

This is SOLD. Lookout for an upcoming ZMF cable listing, I guess

Focal Utopia headphones.

I thought the cosmetics were perfect but the camera sees better than I do: A few small nicks to the finish on the outermost part of the rings on each cup, and what looks like a spot of glue on the mesh grill on the left cup, inside the etched grill guard. See images. No idea on how that last got there, I'm assuming factory but I've never noticed it before. None of this is immediately apparent to the eye, I rate these 8 of 10.

Perfect working order, the tiny glue spot does not affect anything. I purchased these new when they were released and they have maybe 120 hours on them total, including burn in and usage . That's a high guess, although I love the sound of these I just don't do extended listening sessions.

These will come with original box (the pleather cover of which is sagging a bit), original 12 ft SE cable, and a ZMF custom 6 foot 4 pin XLR . Will be packed in original packaging.

ADDENDUM: Just found out the Utopia warranty was extended to 5 years from date of purchase and is transferable with original invoice, which I have and will provide, so warranty is good on this one until 11/02/21.

I'm selling off the majority of my collection because they haven't been getting any listening time and income uncertainty from the shutdown is forcing me to reconsider the amount of $$ I have sunk in audio gear. I should probably make one big list & post it.

I suspect the last man standing will be a ZMF Eikon and one of the Sennheisers.

 

If a Friend from SBAF wants the headphone I'd rather keep them together as an extra benefit right now.

These have been posted on other forums without the XLR cable & at a more reasonable ( read: higher ) price. If they sell from one of those I'll list the cable here.

This is an insane steal, you guys know that that cable is $700+ new and one of the best cables out there for the utopia right? Hell if one of you guys buy it and don’t want the cable for some odd reason, I’ll buy the cable from you for $450, effectively reducing the price of this to $1450 for an excellent condition utopia.

 

$1100 for the cable last I checked!

Ok, calm down here, no false advertising. The ZMF Cable is a 6 foot, 2K copper cable which currently lists for $599 at ZMF new as far as I can tell.

 

Not false advertising: It's $600 for base cable cost +70 for Utopia Lemo connectors and +~50 for the eidolic connector (not offered anymore). So roughly ~$725, so my >700 valuation checks out, although I think I overestimated the base cable cost in my head.

 

Sale is pending on this.

 

Oh, sorry, I confused it with the stock cable. (which really is $1100) My bad.

 

Damn.... Good someone grabbed it...almost went for it
