I kinda think if you drank that black one youd be fine actually. It stinks like pickles and eggs, but the gold has been rendered inert. It's black for some reason, not sure why, but it is 99.9% pure metallic gold.

I've got a crapload of cupric chloride. I think it's very toxic. If you throw baking soda in it I guess it forms malachite/azurite or something. Might try it.

gold is not very nert anyway, right? Not completely inert: iirc, a combination of Nitric and Suphuric acids attack it (Aqua Regis?).

I think I'd take a risk on gold simply coming out the other end. As long as I didn't have to find it to prove the point.

All you said's true. I meant biologically inert in a sense that it's in its metallic form, not ionic in a liquid. You can eat it drink it whatever. Mercury... has a vapour pressure. And while small, it's very toxic. So ... not a good idea.

Also, yes, aqua regia is a nitric/cloric combo, but 2l of bleach and 2l of hcl for a grand total of 2 bucks works exacly the same if you can deal with clorine gas. Or inhale it all, like me!

So, if I was to *drink* the bleach, and then eat the gold, that wouldn't be so good, as it would be meeting bleach plus HCl (not H2SO4; thanks) in my stomach.

I'll try to remember not to do that!
