hum...do you mean here in America? I wonder if channels with more main stream exposure/audiances (such as ESPN, the major networks, etc.) would even want to broadcast if for free, given that they could probably show something else that would generate more ratings and thus more $ from advertisers? Just speculating. I speak as an Everton supporter (so I am a *real* fan ;) )
Part of the problem is that there the CL is very late this year, and hard to find a place to put it with established programming set up at this time at the usual suspects. Turner had bought access for this year, but in the pandemic hiatus backed out of the deal and CBS was left to swoop in. However their specialized sports channels are not easy to find and have usually low viewership.
You didn't watch it? Chances were few on either side. Not to say everything was in midfield but defenses cut off runs on either side. Neymar tried to do too much in the second half.
