Do you still have a BW2? I might (maybe) have enjoyed the Clears on it more than the Starlett going from memory and I wonder about the Utopia as well. Never had both amps together however, nor the Utopia when I had the BW2.

That said the Utopia with Starlett and GungMB A2 upstream is speeecciialll. The Clear just does not scale enough on it to give me the "wow" that the Utopia does.

Also, the I always had the Clear in decent "non metallic" SS setups before (BW2, Asagard 3, even non bright DAPS) so again plugging them into a Stralett did now wow me. Seems many use them with steely upstream gear and when they hear them out of an appropriate chain they realize for the first time what they are about...

@crenca I do still have the BW2, haven't tried Clears yet with it. Will do that today. The first time with Utopia+Clear it was on steely upchain gear so initially wrote them off. But pleasantly suprised with Clear, hopefully same wit Utopia

If you like the Clear, very good chance you'll like the Utopia more. Something about the Utopia driver just sounds better than the lower-end Focal drivers, and I don't mean just technicalities. The "metallic timbre" thing is so overstated.

@ChaChaRealSmooth do you seeing yourself using VO or Utopia more. For my library thinking the VO works better, but where the Utopia shines, it really shines no competition.

@dncnexus I'm prone to wild mood swings and random fits of choosing a can, so it probably roughly averages to equal use among all my headphones that I own. That being said, Utopia and Verite are definitely complementary cans.
