    @YMO Af doesn't use SE headphone out, only XLR balanced. But I've never used an XLR balanced headphone out so don't have any cables for it for my headphones

    The ZMF "OFC" line are nice cables - supple and cheap, though the male 4 pin XLR Zach uses always fits in too tight like it is a bit out of spec

    Also with the Starlett/Utopia combo and its selectable Bal vs. SE on the XLR out, I now think I hear a small difference between them. The EC Af has not SE out (it's always Bal out) as I understand it.

    @JK47 I heard that doing SE to BAL is fine but you shouldn't do BAL to SE due to grounding problems?

    Yea, I think JK47 is thinking the other way. You want real bal. wired cables to a 4 pin male XLR

    No, it has been documented in one of the EC thread's by Marv. Do your homework and you will figure it out. I know because I built one and used it with my AF.

    Well, I know the BW2 has a SE out and and XLR out (4 pin female) both of which were in fact SE out circuit wise. The EC Af as I understand has a "true" bal. circuit XLR out (4 pin female), so unless I am mistaken you don't want to plugging in a SE wired cable/converted cable into it. Perhaps because it is a transformer coupled bal. out it does not matter?

    Use an XLR to TRS adapter (reverse from regular). Just never use this adapter on any other amp.
