    @Merrick SL-1800. It's a sentimental pick-up as I had one of these when I was younger. The vintage Empire E2000/III cartridge that came with it is just a bonus.

    I use an SL-1800 too! Mk1 for me, bought it before I learned how much of an improvement Mk2 was.

    Yea I thought about that. But for the shape it was in, with that cart, and a run through a technician already, I knew it wasn’t going to stay up long at the price.

    The stylus is not long for this world, so that’ll be another bit, but I justify it by saying I saved five times the total price by not buying a new 1500C for Christmas.

    Audiophile math at its finest, eh?

    Oh, I've done the "convince myself I'm going to buy super expensive thing" then I don't so I buy something else that I shouldn't but is way cheaper than the super expensive thing I had convinced myself I was going to buy in the first place haha
