Many thanks, and the art clean box will output bal and unbal with just the bal input? Also thinking of y splitter and then wiring bal to unbal but have to figure voltages to not overload sub input.
Ah y'know what, looking through the manual I think the cleanbox actually only does the conversions but doesn't do dual output. The DTI will output both though since it's all tapped off the same transformer. It would be better to do that than use a y splitter because the splitter will ground the negative legs of XLR which you usually don't want to do.
I read that you can take a balanced hot, float the negative, and use the shield for ground on an unbalanced wiring to avoid using the negative of the balanced signal. Need to check the Rane guide for wiring.
it's *probably* fine, but there's a chance that having the uneven loading on the pos/neg legs may cause bad mojo which is why using a DI box is the safer route
