Dead Cells!

Close - @%20 Oddity is right about Dead Cells. It's a roguelike metroidvania style game, so I recommend if those are your thing.

I've been meaning to grab Furi since I'm partial bullet-hell to mechanics too! What did you think of it?

Ah, that’s it! I shoulda known since Metroidvania and Souls-type games are my jam. I felt Furi started off super strong and kinda fizzled out halfway thru. Mechanically however it’s super challenging in a fun way. I’d give it a 7 out of 10 prolly.

Also check out Sundered and Hollow Knight if you haven’t. I adore both of them. Especially the latter.

I could see that; I played a mean Ikaruga back in the day, so I always work some shmup/bullet-hell into trips at the arcade.

Dead Cells is still early in dev, but I'd give it a strong 8/10 and especially so if you like those genres as much as I do!

Nice! I enjoyed Ikaruga a lot, and its spiritual predecessor Radiant Silvergun is an all time fav. I’m by no means a SHMUP pro, but I grew up in mall arcades lol, so bullet hell / run n gun / quarter munchers are near and dear to my heart.

Ahhhh, I never played Radiant Silvergun, but I've always meant to. Guess this is good reason to make another mental note. ;)

I'm also glad there's a Free Play close by to spare my wallet, but I'm still known to throw coins indiscriminately over weekend trips to Austin.
