Uh, no, stick to low OI amps only on these, unless you want UltraBloat (tm).

How comfortable was the seat belt headband? Seems like it would be better than the leather or rubber used by other companies.

I didn't have any issues myself. Can't speak for someone that might have very short or no hair. It was flexible and supportive.

The metal rods themselves I felt still had room for improvement in terms of shape to improve ergonomics. Hard to explain. They also liked to sort of "snap" forward or back, requiring a fair amount of fiddling to get the headphones on just right.

Actually, now that I'm thinking of it, my friend listened to this a little over a week ago (he was over to test other stuff, and I figured I'd get his opinion while he was here). He's more or less bald and didn't mention discomfort with the seat belt headband.

However, he did initially say they felt weird and uncomfortable overall (unrelated to seat belt). He played around with them for a while and got them to a point where he more or less said they were OK, but was unsure if he could wear them for a long period of time. Then again, he wears light, open back headphones at home for a reason.

And as a sort of counterpoint to my impressions, while he's not a particularly experienced listener, he said he found the Borealis to sound similar to the HD650 but with punchier bass. I asked if he felt like anything seemed missing in the upper mids, or if the treble seemed less refined, and he indicated nothing stood out much for him in that regard. (We didn't get a chance to test the Australis.)
