It should work as long as the efficiency and impedance curve are similar from 500Hz or so up (true with NeoA15 and Beta 15A).

The Beta 15A's won't reach as low as the NeoA15, but will be tighter. The 12" SBs will reach lower than Beta 15A, but be less sensitivity.

I agree with what Purr!n said. The problem with the PAP neo-15 woofers is that they jacked the price to shift away from the DIY market. This makes them prohibitively expensive unless you can find some used ones. The Eminence Betas are a good compromise according to those that have tried them. I haven’t heard the SB Acousics 12s, but I like to move maximum air and keep efficiency high, so 15s make more sense for me.

As for the mid-tweet, You can keep track of recommended drivers by checking the PAP website.

Thanks. Yup this is what we'll be building.

Now that the drivers, waveguide, XO components are on their way (except for the PCB), time to start getting the rest of the stuff in place.

Been researching best jig to use for cutting the holes to use with our Bosch 1617 router. I know the Jasper 200 jig is the go to, but i see there is another tool on parts express . wonder if anyone has thoughts on this?

Also, for the wood, we are planning to use plywood instead of MDF. none of that nasty fine MDF dust for us . My wife does use a 3M mask when woodworking regardless.

Debating on whether to go with Baltic Ply or Bamboo ply.

From some reading i've done on diyaudio.com, seems like the new appleply from state or murphy plywood is the one to go with if sticking to birch plywood.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Amiga MT? I’m seriously seriously tempted to build a pair. A bit concerned about the low sensitivity, but I can probably find a way to live with it.

Looks like applyply is locally made in Oregon.
But costs twice as much as regular birch plywood.

    140$ for a 4x8 sheet 3/4 thickness.
Also available is 1 inch if i want to use for front baffles. 190$ a sheet.

Yeah, getting the BMR drivers to fit in 45cm height would be all kinds of compromised. Looking at other options, have any of you heard Danny Ritchie's X-LS Encores? Doesn't have the cabinet complexity of time-aligned drivers like the Kairos, but still a pretty simple crossover with good dispersion and phase performance.

Well.. the Purifi drivers arrived from Madisound .
Tweeters and crossover components from Parts Express came today too.
    Waveguides from Monacor are here.
Boutique XO components from PCX are here as well.

Just waiting on the XO PCB
Wife picked up a Makita biscuit joiner. Has a jasper jig already for the router.

But first, need to move the motorcycles out from winter storage and clean up the woodshop. and then to go get some baltic birch.

quick update... while i was busy with driving around the track.. wife got around to getting the tool benches built up!
Next to get the tools dialed in (mainly jointer and drill press).

Probably 2nd or 3rd week of May before we can find time to pick up the plywood and get to building the cabinets.
