Does anyone in Melbourne, AUS have a decent TT rig?

Hi SBAFs,

For the last month or two all I've heard around here is turntable this and turntable that. Ive been to a few on the audio stores around this city and none seem to have a rig close to @shaizada @drfindley or @purrin . Im currently running a Gungnir Multibit > T3 > HD800 / HD650 rig and would really like to know what all the fuss is about.

Unfortunately being in Australia means a lot of buying unseen or heard but before I sink a bit of money I would really love it if anyone knew of a good setup around here. Id be happy to pay in beer / friendship or bring my own modest digital rig over.

The last store I tried had a digital? TT > CEntrance DAC > Grados. It sounded worse than my $80 CX300 IEMs out of my iPhone. An order of magnitude worse.

 

Any chance to make it to the states? I'd definitely give you a tour of my rig. As would @purrin or @shaizada. I'm not sure what to expect out of the Australian market.

 

Try the stereo.net.au forums as it's Aussie based. Some very high end gear there. Also head to Pure Music Group for Kuzma, Lyra etc and Krispy Audio for VPI, Benz etc.
