    Hi team. on my quest to buy the worlds stock of rare 2a3 I have finally gotten to surplus level.

    One of my contacts has got 2 x 2 pair of NOS NIB 45-48, 48-58mA AVVT 2a3 that I can get for the price most would pay for a pair.
    PM me if your interested in them.

    Please note. A perfect pair is 60mA+

    Would Marv or a tech savvy Friend please tell me the input impedance of the Studio? I just got Herron VTPH-2 which recommends 50k Ohms input impedance and I'm still in research phase for preamp and what not.

    100k ohms, unless you have the P+G pot, which makes it 15k ohms

    Ok took the plunge, ordered one Studio. Really looking forward to it.

    Though I must say the Yggdrasil/ZDS/400i is already very good to my ears

    Congrats. You're in for something very special.
    Are you considering using Yggdrasil? You must be aware of the balanced issue??

    Yes, I read about it. I haven't really experienced it yet as all my connections are via the RCAs so I didnt think too much about it. I assumed since my boxes are so close to each other (i need to learn how to post pics), the differences would be very minute for to discern. I could be wrong though as I haven't tinkered with any balanced cables yet. maybe this is a case of ignorance is bliss :)

    I also ordered a pair of EML mesh 2A3s and thinking what the other two 2A3s. any recommendations? I read RCA mono plates are good but I need to find a reasonably priced pair.

    Side note: my Yggdrasil is black and waited 2.5 months for it. worth the wait as black looks really good.

    Hm, wouldn't this be better spent on transducers? (and maybe an Aficionado, if you insist)

    Oh by transducers you mean speakers? I wanted the Studio to drive my speakers too hence i thought best to have both functions, headphone and speaker outputs.
    Between the Af and the Studio, I chose the latter because if I got the former, I will always be wondering about the Studio and from where I am located, not possible to demo both so I mostly made my decision based on reviews here which helped a lot. I also did ask Craig whether he was going to create another amp better than the Studio. He said that will be hard to beat and he will need to think about it.

    @bengo is right
    400i with a studio is indeed a waste imo.

    P.s. Tuning of studio is not a consumer tuning. Its amazing don't get me wrong. But studio really only suits people chasing laser precision.

    If you are in Singapore you can try mine. It’s not subtle at all with the Yggdrasil on balanced.
