Selling my Asus GTX 980 Ti, 20th Anniversary Gold Edition.

    Model: https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/GOLD20TH-GTX980TI-P-6G-GAMING/

Be warned I have modified it. I removed the back plate because it was screwing up temps somehow, most likely because it was preventing the heatsink from being tightened properly (exactly how, I don't remember). I can't recall, but I may have planned to re-use the back plate, but accidentally broke it on attempted removal. Either way, back plate is gone for good!

Upside is I put on new thermal paste and definitely saw lower temps after that.

Be warned that it also was not stable for me running the advertised max clock speed, which had to be enabled via a software overclocking profile.

In fact, I'm not 100% sure what it's stable clock is. It seems to be an average overclocker rather than supporting what Asus sold it as. Since I wasn't the original owner, and then proceeded to remove the back plate, it's too late for an RMA. But at least it has a good cooler!

Interestingly enough, it seems that Overwatch was likely to crash the game at higher clock speeds. It may be generally stable with a higher overclock outside of Overwatch.

Anyway, if you're at all worried about possibly needing to use something like Afterburner to find a custom, stable OC profile, look elsewhere.

Asking $250 all-in-all, which includes shipping and insurance. Comes in original box. Open to reasonable offers but am not open to trades.

Will post on eBay if no buyers in a few days.

OCed 980 Ti is about the same as a 1070.
