    Due to limited time for music listening at home I'm considering re-scaling my audio setup and shifting some money towards a better mobile setup. Therefore doing an interest check on this very nice Theta Gen Va DAC which has been part of my setup for the last 2-3 years. It was bought here on SBAF from Sorrodje, who in turn bought it from Negura. It accepts SPDIF and AES inputs. I'm also including a Theta TLC converter which is supposed to help (even more) with signal timing but which also takes toslink. So with the TLC converter you'll have a choice of SPDIF, AES or Toslink inputs. The unit accepts 16/44,1 or 24/44,1 and has RCA + balanced outs.

    The unit was refurbished in 2015 with new caps etc and is thus in excellent internal condition with new caps and wires etc. During the time I've owned it it's worked flawlessly. Also excellent external condition for its age, I'll try to take some more pictures when time permits.

    I will also say that this is one of the absolutely finest DAC's I've personally heard, possibly the finest. It's superbly dynamic and life-like in its presentation. Absolutely zero haze or smearing of veil or anything like that, and absolutely not a digital or harsh sounding DAC either. Basically this DAC is IMHO about as good as a DAC gets, the rest is up to the synergy in your system and personal taste.

    Tentatively selling at less than purchase price for 1400 EUR including shipping inside the EU. And as Sorrodje told me you might be able to find this DAC cheaper than that but not one that's been refurbished so recently. I believe I also have the original box kicking around somewhere.

    Sale restricted to friends for the first couple of weeks, then contributors, then we'll see. Could be fun if some more members could have the opportunity to own this DAC for a while.

    I have the Theta DsPro Gen V(a) as well and it is pretty legendary. The potential buyer will get an awesome Audio component. GLWTS

    Is the sale still restricted to friends and contributors?
    Thanks

    @Habano

    I believe it's been a sufficiently long time that I don't mind opening up the sale a bit. Becoming a contributor is easy though.

    I added the sale price back to the original listing. We don't edit sale prices so people have a reference later on when buying or selling similar gear
