HD 800 Male to HD 650 Female Cable Adapter

I am wondering if anyone has is aware of a custom adapter plug that allows an HD 800 cable to be used on the HD 650 headphones? The adapters I have seen online are wired and are much longer than I would like. I'd prefer to find a tiny plug adapter instead of permanently modifying my HD 800 cable.

 

Send an email to Trevor at Norne Audio. He makes "hyper-short" adapters with no wire. Not sure if he has what you looking for though.

 

Should be doable. The HD650 connector is a little problematic since it has no barrel to secure the female HD800 socket to, but I'm sure someone like Trevor could sort something out. Peter at Doublehelixcables is also an option. He is a master at micro adapters. Taught me most everything I know about building cables, too.

 

Thank you for the suggestions. Coincidentally I wrote DHC before posting this and their Triple Threat Ultrashort should work but its an expensive proposition and the adapter may or may not put more stress on the HD 650 housing/socket. I may re-terminate the cable and save $159.00.
