@Serious Thanks for the advice. I guess it's time to try out some earfucking with IEMs. Never popped my ear cherries before. Doesn't sound too pleasurable haha.

I'm waiting in arrival of the Z5. I'm trying to be open minded, but the EX800st really has a hold on me. I'm going to try to be as unbiased as possible. I'll have it early next week. The EX800st is something very special.

Throw some little opinion, I've bought Z5 and EX1000, and keep the EX1000.

To my ears, EX1000 is more technically proficient...EX1000 bass is more accurate while Z5 seems a bit bloated and overwhelmed..both have excellent staging capabilities but the EX1000 sounds more airy.

@mulolomu, great info brother. I love the ex1000. Studio sound with basshead potential. Once eq'd correctly, you can really bring some incredible bass slam, with crystal clear mids and excellent soundstage (for an iem). One of my top 5 favorites, probably number 5. Still doesn't beat my EX800st. That's the best I've heard from Sony. I won't have my Z5 until mid next week unfortunately, but fairly excited aboutit.

My only major gripe is their design, I don't care for the way they look in ear. For a basshead, these are hard to beat. I do a small mod, tape the vent and wow. Hits much harder, perhaps a smaller stage, but excellent trade off IMHO.

@hifi01170, sorry totally forgot about the eq settings, I will definitely get them to you the latest this evening. I left my X7 at work yesterday, but I have it and set an alarm so I don't forget.

Unfortunately I've never heard or auditioned the EX800ST :(

Really want to try it someday...

    @Warrior
Do you tried or maybe owned the ocharaku lineup especially kaede (discontinued) or sakura?
They are one of the best Dynamic driver implementation I've ever heard IMO...

No I've never tried it bro. I'm going to organize a tour with the EX800st for people in the states. Whomever is interested in giving them a listen. Within 2 weeks or so. Just waiting on one of my other IEMs to come back. I have to have one of my two favorites in my possession at all times or I'll get sick. ;)

Are you in the states bro?

Sure thing brother. Not sure if we need permission, I did pm the eastern state gatemaster from the loaner thread.

Probably best to include them all for a proper comparison.

Yes, that's the beauty of these, they can take some heavy eq.

u are right man! checked yesterday with my Ibasso P5 and played with the different gain settings (source is a RWAK100-S)!
Subjectively speaking, with the high gain... the bass is powerfull, more present... making the whole sound signature just great... bass and clarity. when i went to my ie800 just to compare, the ie800 sounded muddier with this setup. Am rediscovering these great iems!

@hifi01170 I told you that was my friends, I gave it a listen and felt it was still a little lacking in bass and some top end. I added a few tweaks if you are interested.

    Low shelf 85hz q1. 76 gain 4.25
    High shelf 5000hz q1 gain 8.64

Sounds a little better to my ears.

Has anyone had the chance to listen to the new Savanna? The description from Noble says "...offering a gratifying listening experience with many acoustic recordings not produced to enthusiast standards", and I kind of took that as a hint that they realxed the treble a bit.

Just asking because there aren't that many impressions, and I'm wondering if they'd be worth to purchase once there's a sale since I already have the 4, and a more forgiving treble with the already flat bass/mids appeals to me greatly.

I heard the Savannah at Canlanta. I thought it was a significant improvement on the Noble 4 universal. The Noble 4 uni had a rather larger 6k or so treble peak that I found both annoying and timbre killing. The Savannah doesn't have that peak. It's much more linear, polite and enjoyable but still sounded pretty extended. Overall it sounded like a midcentric take on a neutral signature. I also prefer the new metal housings compared to the old uni housings.
