Damn. Ah well, I'm just looking for an excuse to get another pair of IEMs that I probably won't use that much anyways. I've been pretty satisfied with my Rockets when I think about it.

I find that a lot of the higher end DD IEMs need a bit more than what most smartphones can do. The Pixel is quite serviceable with the PX though. More than serviceable actaully. The PX from the Sony ZX2 is marginally less soft, clearer, more inciveness, and more resolving of nuances than the Pixel; but this is the case for practically every other IEM. I have no idea how iPhone performs. Will try it at home if I get a chance.

Not essentially high resolution. It's high bandwidth to the point where redbook can be transmitted nearly losslessly.

I've never cared about any additional resolution over redbook.

That was meant to be a reference to the LDAC discussion in the Andro thread, but I misquoted myself quoting Sony. Should be effectively.

I tried them down for about 30 seconds and have worn them over the ear ever since. Very secure...these things aren't coming out unless you want them to.

Mine come out constantly with the adapter shown in the picture. This dude has CIEMs so they are probably more secure than the heavy andromedas for me. I strongly prefer having an ear hook.

So what does pre-launch entail? I didn't see the drop on the site.

Dsnuts reveals it in his Ad-Fi review. He calls the FR measurements someone provided a "graph ... for your viewing."

I wasn't told I couldn't post the price. But it's fun to tease people.

Not sure. I thought it might have been a thing when MD finally posts the info on their site before it officially goes for sale. Maybe in a few hours it will show up. The day is not over yet.

I might just be having a brain fart, and I'm not trying to be pedantic. Don't you mean that you expand the y-axis for IEM measurements to show more detail (i.e. greater vertical distance for the same incremental increase)? To me, the vertical scale of the Sony Z1R is more compressed. Sorry for going OT.

Tried editing my post above, but clicking "Edit" keeps logging me off.

A buddy in the US will help me out with these. Thanks to @imackler for the gracious offer!

In such cases you could also use a US Forwarding service, like this:

Too bad they didn't clean up the upper mid/lower treble spike. I loved the look, feel and comfort of the Pinnacle P1 but couldn't handle that spike with any of my many tips I tried.

RE: BA vs. Dynamic. I'm pretty sure they say they're dynamic drivers on the website somewhere. I never would have tried them if they were balanced armature receivers because my range of appreciation for BA goes from absolute hatred (most of them) on up to liking them for a BA (Noble 5--loved the sound until fatigue set in 100% of the time after a couple of hours). No point in trying BA earphones anymore since they are never my cup of tea.

    http://www.meeaudio.com/pinnacle
"The Pinnacle P1 utilizes a proprietary 10mm moving coil driver with 50Ω impedance to improve performance at the extremes of the frequency range."

    https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-mee-audio-pinnacle-px-iems
"The 10-millimeter copper-clad dynamic moving-coil driver delivers a musical sound with crystal-clear mids and a realistic bass note, while the proprietary acoustic diffuser creates the ideal balance of treble extension and smooth in-ear response."

This is one of the major reasons I went in on this. I don't have any DD IEMs so I wanted to add one to the growing collection <see my avatar>.

man, are they bright or what?! and this is coming from an ex1k user lol, will let them run in for a bit before attempting to listen again...hehe

ergonomically comfortable tho, and the accessories/tips selection exhaustive.
