    Hi Guys!

I just made an account after seeing that we've received website traffic from superbestaudiofriends and stumbled upon this thread.
Let me introduce myself, I am Wouter from Metrum Acoustics, responsible for the business side of things.

Let me post the brief story of what happened to Metrum Acoustics:
It is no secret Metrum Acoustics has had some trouble over the last year+ which ended in a bankruptcy ruling by the Dutch courts in February.

In 2018 an investment firm joined the company and implemented a strategy of fast international growth through marketing and sales efforts. In practice this meant an organization that was understaffed and overworked, delivering premium audio products with an under par customer services experience. This was great for short term profitability but not sustainable in the long term and was cause for disagreement within the board.

Over this period of time too much customers experienced a terrible service or no service at all. This is very regrettable and does not fit with the premium audio brand Metrum Acoustics is.

As of July 2020 the ownership of Metrum Acoustics is back with its original founders. The brand, intellectual property and inventory have been bought back and the company and team are being built up again. The goal is to have business up and running as of August.

Offering the best and most innovative audio products is once again our mission.
Paired with a 5 star customer service experience. No compromises.

Love to answer some questions if there are any :).

    This is good news!

Hopefully you can bring the brand back to its past glory and put these sad times behind you.

What does this mean for Cees and Sonnet? Are they going to merge with Metrum, or remain a separate company?

If the details are as good as we hope, we will have to help Wouter figure out how to become an MOT and encourage him to check in from time to time.

FWIW, I visited their site and noticed that they sell the Amethyst with i2s input. Since I have an Amethyst, I figured I'd ask a cost to upgrade... fired up their chat and someone was immediately online to discuss. They said they would check and email a response. Later that same day Wouter responded with a email. So... I know this is a single anecdotal data point, but it seems like they are serious about solving the customer service problems of the prior owners.

As for the upgrade... I'd have to send the dac back, they solder some new chips/outputs in and send it back. $240USD + shipping both ways. Not worth it to me and I'd rather save that $$ towards a better DAC.

I guess input nervosa only goes so far...
