Ghost - Prequelle would be my choice for 2018.

If I'm honest, this is what got the most spins according to (except the Kacey Musgraves record which I've just come across, but definitely would be on this list)

    Robyn - Honey
    Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour
    Pusha T - Daytona
    Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer
Cardi B - Invasion of Privacy
    Black Panther: The Album

Rock music is dead. It's all country-pop and hip-hop. But I'd take that over critically acclaimed indie schmindie shit.

Either this or it's hidden really well off the mainstream radar. But once in a while something cool can be found.

Not exactly a rock thing, but I like latest Swans.

100% agree. This would easily be my choice for 2018. I think as their best album as a whole. Though Meliora comes close.

I suspect you could eliminate all albums from 2018 and I would not notice. So rock may indeed be dead....but so is pop!

I like both, but I think Meliora will go on to be their (his) de facto classic album.

I’m sure Meliora will be. They damn near play the whole thing in concert. I still think Prequelle flows the best as a whole album. I mainly listen to vinyl; so, I tend to listen to albums start to finish.

I think Prequelle is good, but some of the theatrical elements of Ghost/Forge come through a bit cheesier on this album. The best songs on Meliora like Majesty, Cirice, or Absolution just crush over songs like Rats, See the Light or Pro Memoria. That's my case!

I totally agree with you If you go by individual tracks then Meliora kills all the other albums. Doubt he’ll top it. It’s my wife’s favorite Ghost album. I just have this fondness for albums that flow like a single work of art through the whole album. I like the cheesy theatrical stuff but also like musicals.
Its awesome to find someone else that loves Ghost. Not very many fans by me.
